Armenia and Japan celebrated 15 years of diplomatic relations on September 7, 2007, at  Armenia’s embassy in Moscow.

President Robert Kocharian and Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian of Armenia exchanged messages with their counterparts, and expressed the firm belief that relations and collaboration between Armenia and Japan can and will develop and strengthen for the benefit of both peoples.   

They also underscored, that within the framework of international organizations, the two states cooperate actively and always carry on a dialogue concerning regional issues of mutual interest.
   
In congratulating Armenia’s President and Foreign Minister, Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Foreign Minister Nabutaka Machimura expressed their satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations.
