Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan participated in the assessment forum of the Second National Action Plan for the implementation of Resolution N1325 on "Women, Peace and Security" for 2022-2024

On February 9, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan participated and delivered remarks at the assessment forum of the Second National Action Plan for the Implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution N1325 on Women, Peace and Security (FY 2022-2024), attended also by representatives of other agencies and non-governmental organisations.

The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasised the comprehensive work done during the last year towards ensuring the implementation of the National Action Plan provisions. He stressed that within the framework of Resolution N1325, continuing efforts are needed to improve the participation of women in various peace and security issues. Vahan Kostanyan stressed the importance of the fact that the implementation of the Second National Action Plan provisions ensures that citizens living in regions close to the border and bearing direct consequences of conflicts have the ability to raise their voices.

The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the representatives of non-governmental organisations for successfully implementing the Plan, citing the progress made so far as evidence of effective cooperation.
