Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan participated in the official opening ceremony of the Office of the Austrian Development Agency

02 February, 2022

On February 2, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Austria Ararat Mirzoyan and Alexander Schalenberg participated in the official opening ceremony of the Office of the Austrian Development Agency. In his speech Minister Ararat Mirzoyan particularly noted:

"Good afternoon. I congratulate all of us on the occasion of the opening of the office.

I want to mention that it is a pleasure and an honor for me to be present at this event. We are opening this office today, but it is not the first day and new that the Austrian Development Agency operates in Armenia.

This activity started in 2013 and has great, tangible achievements, especially in the field of green and modern agriculture. Today, Mr. Schallenberg has also witnessed one of those results.

I also want to mention that today we are opening a new page in our relations and cooperation. I think that both the Armenian side and I should happily state that the Austrian side is ready to build a qualitatively new type and range of programs and relationships.

I am pleased to note that Armenia, as a country of the Eastern Partnership, is also included in the 2021-2027 Austrian Development Cooperation program.

I should present quite significant examples: today, as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of our relationship, we are here to open this office.

I would like to brief those colleagues who do not know about it yet, Minister Schallenberg's visit is accompanied by a business delegation, tomorrow we will have an Armenian-Austrian business forum. The opening of the office, the business forum, and a number of other events that are planned demonstrates that this visit is really a new page and a new impetus in our relations.

I once again congratulate all of us”.
