Meeting of Foreign Minister Zorhab Mnatsakanyan at the Parliament of Artsakh

On July 4, on the margins of the working visit to Artsakh, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Artur Tovmasyan, the President of the Parliament of Artsakh. The Vice-President of the Parliament of Artsakh Gagik Baghunts and the Presidents of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Vahram Balayan also participated in the meeting.

Expressing gratitude for warm reception, Minister Mnatsakanyan wished every success to the President of the Parliament Artur Tovmasyan and the members of the Parliament in the fulfillment of the mandate given by the people of Artsakh, including the development of Artsakh and enhancement of comprehensive security.

The Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of national elections of Artsakh as a manifestation of determination and will of the people of Artsakh to build its own future based on the fundamental principles of human rights and democracy. Minister Mnatsakanyan particularly noted; “This is a very important factor for the people of Artsakh in every respect, including the fact that the people of Artsakh, after going through an ordeal, have earned their right to live free and they do build their future with full responsibility.”

Both sides emphasized the need for efforts towards the full use of the parliamentary platform and its potential.

Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, Minister Mnatsakanyan briefed Artur Tovmasyan and the Members of Parliament on the results of the recent video-conference with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chars and the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan.
