Political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Switzerland

On February 3, political consultations between Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and the Swiss Confederation were held in Bern. The Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts, and the Swiss delegation was led by Krystyna Marty Lang, acting State Secretary of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

During the consultations, the interlocutors touched upon a wide range of issues of the Armenian-Swiss bilateral agenda commending political relations established between the two countries. The sides touched upon the economic ties outlining the steps towards further strengthening and expanding them and highlighted the growth of export from Armenia to Switzerland during the last year.

The parties touched upon the activity of the Swiss Agency for development and Cooperation in Armenia. They discussed the main directions of the program to be implemented in Armenia by the Agency at the next stage of cooperation (2021-2024). 

The interlocutors touched upon the cooperation and mutual support in the framework of international organizations.

During the consultations, the parties exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest of international and regional agenda and presented their positions on regional issues.

Avet Adonts briefed Krystyna Marty Lang on the process of reforms implemented by the Government of Armenia and, within this context, the cooperation established with international partners.
