Interdepartmental Consultations on Human Rights Issues between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation.

On November 19, Armenian-Russian interdepartmental consultations on the Human Rights Issues were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. 

The Armenian delegation was headed by Ms. Karine Sujayan, head of the Human Rights and Humanitarian Issues Department, and by the Russian side Mr. Rinat Alyautdinov, Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

A wide range of issues related to the cooperation in the field  of Human Rights at the United Nations General Assembly, Human Rights Council, OSCE, Council of Europe and other international organizations and platforms were touched upon. The two sides stressed the need for holding regular consultations.

Specialized departments of Foreign Ministries of the two countries as well as the representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia participated in the consultations.

At the end of the consultations the delegation was received by Mr Artak Apitonyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. The two sides presented to the Deputy Foreign Minister the achieved agreements and further joint programs.
