Political consultations between Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation

On October 24, political consultations were held between the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. 

The Armenian delegation was headed by Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia. Taking into account that the consultations consisted of two parts- bilateral and multilateral, the Russian delegation was headed by Andrey Rudenko and Alexander Pankin respectively, Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation.

According to the agenda of consultations, the two sides touched upon bilateral relations, cooperation on multilateral platforms, in particular in the frames of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Eurasian Economic Union ( EEU) and Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), as well as issues, related to the situation in the region.

The Russian side expressed gratitude to the Armenian side for the effective presidency at the EAEU in 2019, as well as for organizing a high-level Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on October 1. 

The two sides commended high-level of bilateral relations, effective cooperation on international platforms as well as touched upon the steps that should be taken in the direction of forthcoming programmes.
