On September 27, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif at the UN headquarters.

Minister Mnatsakanyan underlined that Armenia values established high-level dialogue and friendly relations with Iran. The important role of the Armenian community of Iran was emphasized as a solid bridge uniting the two peoples and states.

Foreign Ministers Mnatsakanyan and Zarif touched upon the agenda of the Armenian-Iranian friendly relations, highly appreciating the frequency of meetings and contacts at various levels. In this regard, they touched upon the preparations of the Eurasian Economic Union summit to be held in Armenia and the participation of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iran briefed each other on positions and approaches on a number of urgent regional and international issues. Both sides highlighted the importance of strengthening of international and regional security and peace.
