Foreign Minister of Armenia met with Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne Secretary of State to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France

On September 24, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs in New York.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne touched upon a wide range of issues of the Armenian-French special relationship. Regular mutual visits and contacts on high and highest levels between France and Armenia, which give new impetus to the development of multifaceted cooperation were reciprocally appreciated. 

Issues, regarding the Armenia-EU cooperation, were on the agenda. The foreign minister of Armenia and the state secretary of France attached importance to the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, which is a legal basis for cooperation. In this context, the Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized promoting people-to-people contacts and the launch of dialogue on visa liberalization. 

The interlocutors exchanged thoughts on the agenda of the ministerial conference of the La Francophonie international organization, which will be held in Monaco in October, and events, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Organization. Minister Mnatsakanan reaffirmed the readiness of Armenia to contribute to overcoming challenges, facing the International Organisation of La Francophonie and spreading francophone values. 

 Touching upon the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Armenian Foreign Minister informed his interlocutor of the latest meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan and expressed his satisfaction to France with regard to efforts towards the peaceful resolution of the conflict together with the other OSCE Minsk-Group Co-chairing countries.
