The newly appointed Ambassador of Tunisia presented copies of his credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia

On January 29, 2019, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigor Hovhannisyan received newly appointed Ambassador of Tunisia (residence in Moscow) Mohammad Ali Shihin on the occasion of presenting copies of his credentials.

Congratulating Ambassador Shihin on the commencement of his diplomatic mission, the Deputy Foreign Minister expressed hope that the Ambassador’s work will give new impetus to the strengthening and deepening of relations between Armenia and Tunisia.

Ambassador Shihin thanked the Deputy Minister, noting the warm attitude on the part of the Tunisian side towards Armenia and the Armenian people.

The sides agreed to put efforts into promoting the expansion of intergovernmental cooperation in legal, economic, cultural and tourism fields. Deputy Foreign Minister Hovhannisyan and Ambassador Shihin also highlighted the importance of organizing political consultations between the two foreign ministries.

Both sides highlighted Armenian-Tunisian cooperation within the multilateral framework, especially in the frame of Francophonie. In this context interlocutors highly appreciated the visit of the Tunisian delegation headed by the President of Tunisia to Armenia for participating to the summit of Francophonie.

Mr. Hovhannisyan hoped that Tunisian side would also actively participate in the international conference of information technology, which will take place in Yerevan.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their commitments to spare no efforts for deepening Armenian-Tunisian relations.
