Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia received the delegation headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova

On January 22, Artak Apitonian, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, received the delegation headed by Mihail Beregoi, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova, who visited Armenia at the invitation of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) Office in Armenia. Vigen Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia, Hovhannes Kocharyan, Deputy Head of Police and Armen Ghazaryan, Head of the Migration Service also participated in the meeting.

The aim of the meeting was to learn Moldova's experience in cooperating with the EU in the field of migration, including the Visa Liberalization Dialogue, possible problems and the practical ways of their solution in different stages of this process.

The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude for the readiness of the Moldovan side to present their experience to Armenia, attaching importance to the possible launch of the Visa Liberalization Dialogue between Armenia and the EU, which is stipulated in the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, "Partnership Priorities" document, Joint Declarations of the Eastern Partnership Riga and Brussels Summits, "20 Deliverables for 2020" document, while also being one of the most important items on the Armenia-EU bilateral agenda.

Deputy Minister Apitonian also highlighted Armenia's effective implementation of the Armenia-EU Visa Facilitation and Readmission Agreements which is one of the preconditions for the launch of the dialogue.

Upon conclusion, it was agreed to continue further meetings in such format.
