Armenian-Austrian political consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On October 8, Armenian-Austrian political consultations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The Armenian side was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Garen Nazarian and the Austrian side was headed by Director-General for International Affairs of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria Alexander Marschik.

During the meeting, the sides had a thorough discussion concerning the work being done to further deepen bilateral relations, also emphasizing the importance of promoting cooperation in multilateral formats. Reference was made to the programmes being implemented in Armenia within the framework of the Armenia-EU partnership and future priorities.

Ambassador Marschik noted in his remarks that Austria, as the holder of the EU Presidency, would do the utmost to deepen EU-Armenia relations.

Deputy Minister Nazarian attached great importance to Austria’s support of the efforts being undertaken within the context of ratification and implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

At Marschik’s request, the sides exchanged views about the latest domestic political developments in Armenia. The interlocutors also touched upon regional issues.
