Meeting of Armenian and Lithuanian Foreign Ministers

On October 8, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius, who is in Armenia to participate in the OIF Summit.

The Foreign Ministers of the two countries expressed their satisfaction with the recent positive dynamics in the Armenian-Lithuanian relations, and discussed joint steps to be taken towards further deepening of sectoral cooperation. The Ministers highlighted as a priority the area of information technologies and innovation attaching importance to initiation of projects and programmes for exchange of the experience of the two states.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Linas Linkevičius considered important the regular bilateral high-level contacts, as well as the deepening of collaboration in the multilateral formats. In this context, the heads of the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Lithuania underscored the value of the International Organization of La Francophonie as an important platform for contacts, and expressed conviction that the 35th Ministerial Conference and the 17th Summit in Yerevan will bring their unique contribution to a further strengthening of the organization based on the declared values and principles of La Francophonie.

The interlocutors also exchanged thoughts on Armenia-EU collaboration, as well as perspectives of deepening the multilateral and bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.
