Foreign Minister of Armenia met with the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community

On June 29, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Berlin on an official visit, met with Helmut Teichmann, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community.

A number of issues of the Armenian-German relations agenda were discussed at the meeting. The interlocutors touched upon the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, highlighting it in terms of developing Armenia’s partnership both with the European Union and EU member states.

In this respect the interlocutors exchanged views on launching the Armenia-EU visa liberalization dialogue. The Armenian FM pointed out that the Armenian side expects support of EU member states and the German side in order to achieve a progress in this regard emphasizing the importance of this process in strengthening ties between the two societies.

State Secretary Teichmann informed of the intention of the German side to include Armenia among the safe countries, which was welcomed by the Armenian Foreign Minister.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the issues of refugees and illegal migration flows. Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed his counterpart on the ongoing efforts towards improving Armenia's migration policy and border management, as well as readmission and reintegration capabilities.
