European Integration Department

The European Integration Department is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Government of the Republic of Armenia’s foreign policy toward the European Union within the Ministry’s competence.

The main aims and objectives of the department are as follows:

Implementation of the Government’s foreign policy with regard to the European Union, within the Ministry’s jurisdiction, and deepening of partnership-based, mutually beneficial relations with the European Union.

Conduction of the political dialogue with the European Union, representation and safeguarding of the interests and rights of the Republic of Armenia on the international arena.

Political coordination of the cooperation between state bodies of the Republic of Armenia and the institutions, agencies, and other bodies of the European Union.

Coordination of dialogue with civil society on matters related to the European Union.

Dissemination of the appropriate information and raising public awareness regarding the partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union.

The Department consists of two divisions:

  • Division of Political Partnership with the European Union;
  • Division of Sectoral Cooperation with the European Union.

The Division of Political Partnership with the European Union is responsible, inter alia,for coordination and conduction of official correspondence with the European Union across all levels of the political sphere. It also maintains regular contacts with the representatives of the European Union Delegation in Armenia, cooperates within the framework of the European Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, prepares the meetings of the institutional bodies established between Armenia and the European Union.

The Division of Sectoral Cooperation with the European Union is responsible, inter alia, for coordinating and implementing activities within the Ministry’s jurisdiction, related to the implementation of the CEPA and the Strategic Agenda for the Armenia–EU Partnership. The Division also coordinates and conducts official contacts and correspondence at all levels within the framework of sectoral cooperation with the European Union, and maintains continuous cooperation with the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Armenia.
