On September 22, Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia received Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, Secretary-General of UN Tourism.

The interlocutors discussed ongoing cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and UN Tourism, as well as prospects for further collaboration. In particular, they addressed priority areas for promoting tourism in Armenia, including cultural tourism and agritourism, as well as the nexus between tourism and environment. In this regard, they discussed cooperation in the framework of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade comprehensively presented the Ministry’s new trade-related functions and the new opportunities for cooperation arising from them. In particular, the practical joint steps aimed at showcasing Armenian products in globally renowned hotel chains were discussed.
