On March 23, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan received the UN Women Country Representative to Georgia and Liaison for South Caucasus Kaori Ishikawa.

During the meeting the interlocutors exchanged views on the existing sectoral cooperation between Armenia and UN Women and prospects for its enhancement.

The 17th Conference of parties of the Convention on Biodiversity to be held in Armenia was also discussed. Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan elaborated on Armenia’s vision for hosting COP which is aimed at ensuring inclusivity and engaging all stakeholders. Women’s leadership in biodiversity related matters and importance of initiatives for promoting gender equality have been stressed.

Issues around possible cooperation on Armenia’s Third National Action Plan for implementation of the UNSC Resolution 1325 have also been discussed.
