On March 12, in New York, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Elizabeth Spehar, the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Peacebuilding and Peace Support.

During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister briefed his interlocutor on recent regional developments, emphasizing the imperative of further strengthening and institutionalizing the established peace in the South Caucasus.

The parties exchanged views on issues of the maintenance of international peace and security, highlighting the pivotal role of peacekeeping operations within this context.

Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan presented the active engagement of Armenia in peacekeeping missions conducted under the auspices of the United Nations and NATO across various regions. The Deputy Minister reaffirmed the steadfast commitment of Armenia to supporting international peacekeeping efforts.

Both interlocutors underscored the importance of further deepening the cooperation between Armenia and the UN, particularly within the framework of initiatives focused on peacekeeping, peacebuilding and development.
