Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan with Deputy Secretary General of the EEAS Olof Skoog

On 27 November, within the framework of the working visit to Brussels, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Olof Skoog, the Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs at the European External Action Service (EEAS).

The interlocutors exchanged views on the ambitious agenda shaped between Armenia and the European Union and emphasized the importance of the dynamically deepening partnership. The avenues for further enhancing cooperation established within international organizations were touched upon.

The prospects of sectoral cooperation between Armenia and the EU were discussed, including collaboration in the security and defence domains, as well as in issues on hybrid threats.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon a broad range of issues of mutual interest on the regional and international agenda. The Deputy Foreign Minister briefed his counterpart on the agreements reached on August 8, in Washington, stressing their importance in unblocking transport infrastructures in the region. Robert Absioghomonyan also presented the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative of the Government of Armenia and underscored the importance of leveraging its untapped potential to promote connectivity in the South Caucasus and beyond.
