Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan with Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium Véronique Petit
27 November, 2025On 27 November, within the framework of the working visit to Brussels, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Véronique Petit, Director General for Multilateral Affairs and Globalization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium.
The interlocutors commended the high level of the cooperation established between Armenia and Belgium within multilateral fora and international organizations. Both sides emphasized their willingness to further deepen the collaboration on issues of mutual interest.
Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan touched upon the recent regional developments including the efforts aimed at unblocking transport infrastructure in the South Caucasus. In this vein, the details of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative of the Government of Armenia were presented.
The parties touched upon the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity to be hosted by Armenia. The Deputy Foreign Minister briefed his counterpart on the vision of Armenia on convening COP17 and noted that Armenia spares no effort to ensure the participation of all relevant stakeholders in the Conference.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. The interlocutors discussed the details of the ongoing preparations for the upcoming European Political Community Summit to be held in Yerevan.
