Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan delivered remarks at the closed session dedicated to the ambitions of La Francophonie in the process of reshaping the emerging global order
21 November, 2025On November 20, in Kigali, on the margins of the 46th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the closed session entitled “What Ambitions Should the International Organisation of La Francophonie Pursue in the Process of Reshaping the Emerging Global Order?”
In his remarks, Robert Abisoghomonyan touched upon the challenges facing multilateral cooperation amid the current geopolitical environment and underscored the importance of ensuring an adequate response and joint efforts, as well as establishing more robust and effective international mandates to overcome them.
The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that La Francophonie serves as a unique platform for advancing peace, safeguarding human rights and promoting sustainable development, emphasizing the importance of ensuring more active and effective engagement by the OIF.
Robert Abisoghomonyan touched upon the recent developments in the South Caucasus and briefed on the agreements reached on August 8 in Washington, reiterating the commitment of Armenia to advance the peace agenda and emphasizing the necessity to institutionalize peace and foster an atmosphere of trust. In this vein, Robert Abisoghomonyan drew the attention of the member states to the details of regional unblocking, grounded in the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and jurisdiction of the respective countries.
Touching upon the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity to be hosted in Yerevan in 2026, the Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted willingness of Armenia to work jointly towards ensuring strong visibility for OIF throughout COP17.
Robert Abisoghomonyan called for active registration for the Jeux de la Francophonie, scheduled to be hosted in Armenia in 2027.
