The parties discussed issues related to bilateral relations, exchanged views on deepening cooperation on multilateral platforms, promoting trade and economic ties, as well as expanding cooperation in the spheres of science, education and technology.

The Deputy Minister touched upon the agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8, the peace established in the region as a result of them, and the importance of its institutionalization.

Mnatsakan Safaryan emphasized the importance of the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and its integral component, the "TRIPP route" project in unblocking regional communications and the new economic opportunities that will be provided by their realisation.

Ambassador Cheong expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that Armenia-Malaysia relations have a centuries-old history, as evidenced by the existence of an Armenian street in George Town, Malaysia.

The Ambassador expressed willingness to deepen bilateral relations in various spheres of mutual interest, promoting people-to-people contacts, as well as cultural and economic ties.
