Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe
18 November, 2025On November 18, in Kigali, within the 46th Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized their mutual willingness to advance political dialogue between Armenia and Rwanda, as well as further cooperation both bilaterally and within multilateral fora. The prospects of enhancing sectoral partnership between the two countries were touched upon, including in the areas of education, science, agriculture, innovative technologies and AI.
The issues of cooperation between the two countries within multilateral frameworks and international organizations were discussed. The interlocutors exchanged views on the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity to be held in Yerevan in 2026. In this vein, the Deputy Foreign Minister presented the vision of Armenia and ongoing efforts to adequately address biodiversity challenges and convene a more inclusive COP17.
Following the bilateral meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda signed the Memorandum of Understanding on “Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda”.
