Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia with the delegation of the Armenia–Saudi Arabia Friendship Group
07 November, 2025On November 7, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received the delegation of the Armenia–Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group, headed by the Group’s Chairman Ali bin Mohammed Alshahrani.
In his remarks, Minister Mirzoyan stated: “It was exactly two years ago, in November 2023, that we established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and this was not merely a formal act of establishing the relations – we laid the foundation for strong relations.” Welcoming the visit, the Minister emphasized that Armenia attaches great importance to fully realizing the potential for cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
Ali bin Mohammed Alshahrani expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended during this first official visit from Saudi Arabia to Armenia, voicing confidence that the visit will contribute to the development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The interlocutors highlighted their mutual interest in implementing concrete initiatives, including fostering people-to-people contacts and tourism, promoting business ties, cooperation in the field of information technologies, and other spheres.
Regional developments were also discussed during the meeting. Minister Mirzoyan noted that Armenia highly values Saudi Arabia’s position in support of the established peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
