Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in the launch event of the United Nations Population Fund 2026–2030 Country Programme Document
13 October, 2025On October 13, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the launch event of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Country Programme Document (CPD) for Armenia for 2026–2030.
In his remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan noted that the adoption of the new Country Programme Document marks a promising new chapter in Armenia’s partnership with UNFPA. In this context, he emphasized that the document is fully aligned with the policies and strategies of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, as well as with the priorities outlined in Armenia's UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
The Deputy Foreign Minister touched upon the main areas of CPD, noting that they reflect Armenia’s vision aimed at advancing human resource development, promoting the empowerment of women and youth, as well as ensuring their equal, active, and meaningful participation across all areas of public life. He particularly emphasised the importance of the effective implementation of the Government’s Demographic Strategy for 2024–2040, developed with the strong support of UNFPA, which should become one of the top priorities for the upcoming five years.
