Participation of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan in the Ministerial Meeting of the Freedom Online Coalition

On October 9, on the sidelines of the Tallinn Digital Summit, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered remarks at the Ministerial Meeting of the Freedom Online Coalition.

In his remarks, the Deputy Foreign Minister welcomed the “Principles for Rights Respecting Digital Public Infrastructure” initiative under the FOC framework, emphasizing its timeliness. In this vein, the Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted that the principles and norms of International Human Rights law must be equally applicable both online and offline.

The Deputy Foreign Minister presented national efforts of the Republic of Armenia aimed at ensuring comprehensive and secure digital transformation and equal access to digital services.  

Robert Abisoghomonyan reiterated the commitment of Armenia to promoting human rights protection in the digital environment, enhancing digital literacy and advancing initiatives aimed at ensuring the active participation of women and girls in the development and deployment of modern digital technologies.
