On September 8, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan received Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia of the UN Women (UN Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women) Belén Sanz Luque.  

During the meeting Armenia’s progress in the areas of gender equality, women’s leadership and socio-economic protection, the National Action Plan of the Republic of Armenia for the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, as well as issues around ensuring the rights of the most vulnerable groups have been discussed.

Interlocutors also reflected on Armenia’s initiatives within multilateral platforms for promotion of the rights of women and girls.
