Meeting between Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Pakistan

On August 31, in Tianjin, China, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the decision to establish diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan and discussed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation.

Touching upon the regional developments, Ararat Mirzoyan presented Armenia’s efforts to establish lasting peace in the South Caucasus and, in this context, emphasized that peace has been achieved between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In this regard, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar congratulated Armenia’s Foreign Minister.

Minister Mirzoyan also touched upon other agreements reached in Washington on August 8.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Pakistan exchanged views on engagement on multilateral platforms, including the UN and the SCO.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ararat Mirzoyan and Ishaq Dar signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Pakistan.
