On June 2, on the sidelines of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Viorel Gutu, the FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia.

The interlocutors discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation between Armenia and the FAO. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia commended the implementation of programs by the Organization aimed at improving agricultural productivity and food security in the country.

The Deputy Foreign Minister briefed his counterpart on the steps implemented by Armenia to promote the development of more inclusive food systems and ensure a stable domestic supply.

The 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Armenia and the opportunities for cooperation within its framework were touched upon.
