Meeting of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan with Guy Ryder, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Policy

On June 2, on the sidelines of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Guy Ryder, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Policy.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the UN80 initiative of the UN Secretary-General and the implementation of the fundamental reforms within its framework. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized the effective cooperation with the UN Office in Armenia, and touched upon the ongoing work in the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2026-2030, as well as the programs implemented by UN agencies in Armenia in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The interlocutors also touched upon the preparation process of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be hosted by Armenia in 2026.

The Deputy Foreign Minister briefed his counterpart on recent regional developments, reaffirming the commitment of Armenia to the peace agenda and, in this context emphasizing the importance of the swift signing of the Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
