On May 26, on the margins of the “Yerevan Dialogue” international forum, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan had a meeting with Ivan Scalfarotto, Member of the Senate of the Italian Republic and Gherardo Amaduzzi, the Special Envoy for South Caucasus of the Ministry of Foreign Relations and International Cooperation of Italy.

During the meeting, a wide range of bilateral and multilateral agenda issues between the two countries were discussed at the meeting. The importance of steps aimed at expanding cooperation in the economic sphere was emphasized.

The interlocutors touched upon the 8th summit of the European Political Community (EPC) and 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be hosted in Yerevan in 2026.

Thoughts were exchanged on issues of Armenia-Italy parliamentary cooperation.In the context of efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus, Deputy Minister Vahan Kostanyan highlighted the importance of signing the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
