Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan with Senator Ivan Scalfarotto and Special Envoy for South Caucasus of the MFA of Italy Gherardo Amaduzzi
26 May, 2025On May 26, on the margins of the “Yerevan Dialogue” international forum, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Ivan Scalfarotto, Member of the Senate of the Italian Republic and Gherardo Amaduzzi, the Special Envoy for South Caucasus of the Ministry of Foreign Relations and International Cooperation of Italy.
During the meeting bilateral and multilateral issues on the Armenia–Italy agenda were touched upon and the importance of strengthening cooperation within international platforms was emphasized.
The parties exchanged views on the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), set to be hosted in Yerevan in 2026.
The Deputy Foreign Minister briefed on the Government’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, aimed at fostering economic connectivity both within the region and beyond.
Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan touched upon the recent developments in the South Caucasus and Armenia’s efforts towards the establishment of stability and peace in the region. The importance of signing the Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan was highlighted.
