The newly appointed Ambassador of Australia handed over the copy of his credentials to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia

On April 10, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan received John Geering, the Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Australia to the Republic of Armenia (residence in Moscow), on the occasion of handing over the copy of credentials.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador upon the assumption of his mission and expressed conviction that the Ambassador will carry out effective activities in the further strengthening and deepening of Armenian-Australian relations.

The parties expressed readiness to enhance the cooperation in various fields of bilateral interest based on shared democratic principles and values. The interlocutors stressed the importance of efforts aimed at creating opportunities for contacts between the business circles of the two countries.

Both sides highlighted the positive dynamics of cooperation and the rich history of reciprocal support within the framework of international organizations.

The Deputy Minister touched upon Armenia’s efforts aimed at establishing peace in the region. In this context, Mnatsakan Safaryan briefed Ambassador Geering on the position of the Armenian side regarding the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Türkiye relations, as well as the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
