Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia with the President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay

On March 21, in Montevideo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Ana Olivera, President of the Chamber of Representatives of Uruguay.

The interlocutors commended the readiness of the executive and legislative bodies of the two countries to expand the agenda of bilateral relations, emphasising the deep connection formed between the two societies over the decades.

Ararat Mirzoyan also highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy, including the active cooperation of friendly groups.

The Foreign Minister highly appreciated the solidarity of the two countries and their approach to the protection of universal values, which, unfortunately, are continuously violated in the South Caucasus.

Minister Mirzoyan briefed Ana Olivera on the developments in the South Caucasus, touching upon the course of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Foreign Minister of Armenia reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to the peace agenda, presenting to his interlocutor Armenia's positions and vision for opening a new stage of stability and development in the South Caucasus. Ararat Mirzoyan added that in order to realise the existing real opportunity in that direction, the adequate commitment of other actors is also necessary.
