The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received the Ambassador of Norway

On May 10, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Armenia (residence in Tbilisi) Helene Sand Andresen, on the occasion of the end of the latter's diplomatic mission.

The interlocutors touched upon regional security and stability issues. Minister Mirzoyan briefed upon the recent developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, the vision of the Armenian side on fundamental issues in the negotiation process. Ararat Mirzoyan noted the constructive engagement of the Armenian side and in the context of ensuring progress stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's renunciation of its maximalist aspirations, the policy of using force against the Republic of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the importance of addressing the rights and security of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh, among other issues.

At the meeting, issues on the agenda of bilateral relations between Armenia and Norway were discussed, both sides emphasised the positive dynamics of political dialogue. The importance of further deepening the partnership based on common values and democratic principles and using the existing potential for the expansion of economic cooperation was emphasized.


In his speech, the Foreign Minister noted that he highly appreciates the Ambassador's contribution to the development of bilateral relations and wished her success in further diplomatic work.
