The newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus handed over a copy of his credentials to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia

On November 14, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan, received Kypros Giorgallis, the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus (residence in Moscow) on the occasion of handing over the copy of his credentials.

Congratulating Ambassador Giorgallis on his appointment, Deputy Minister Hovhannisyan assessed the interstate relations between Armenia and Cyprus as excellent, based on centuries-old friendship between the two brotherly peoples and close historical-cultural ties.

Expressing gratitude for the reception and good wishes, Ambassador Giorgallis assured that he will invest his best efforts to further enhance and promote the exemplary relations between Armenia and Cyprus.

The interlocutors touched upon the issues on the bilateral political dialogue, the cooperation in the framework of international organizations and the development of trade and economic relations.

The Deputy Minister briefed upon the situation resulting from the Azerbaijani aggression unleashed against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia on September 13-14 and touched upon a number of important humanitarian issues following the 44-day war and Azerbaijani aggressions.

During the conversation the sides exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest on regional and international agenda.
