The presentation of Armenia’s 2022-2024 Second National Action Plan on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women Peace and Security

On November 2, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the UN Office in Armenia organized the presentation of the second national action plan of Armenia for 2022-2024 within the UN Security Council Resolution № 1325 Women, Peace and Security.

At the beginning of the meeting, the message of the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan was delivered to the participants.

Opening remarks were delivered by Lila Pieters Yahia, the UN Resident Coordinator, and Kristinne Grigoryan, the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia. Frank Hess also made remarks on behalf of the EU Delegation to Armenia.

The members of the intergovernmental commission on UNSCR 1325 on Women Peace and Security and the representatives of local authorities made speeches on work carried out in the framework of National Action Plan.

Among other issues, the speakers addressed the humanitarian problems caused by the Azerbaijani aggression and the questions related to their impact on women.

Vahe Gevorgyan, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, summarized the event, emphasizing that Armenia always considers the implementation of UNSCR 1325 and the localization of its provisions as a priority.
