On June 3, the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia.

Ararat Mirzoyan presented the position of Armenia on the establishment of regional peace and stability and the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and, in this context, reaffirmed the importance of resumption of the works of the  OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.

The sides discussed the implementation process of the agreements reached as a result of the Brussels meetings. Minister Mirzoyan stressed the inadmissibility of arbitrary, false interpretations of the agreements, emphasized the need for rhetoric and practical steps aimed at ensuring a constructive atmosphere.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the works of the Demarcation and Border Security Commission, and the issues of unblocking regional economic and transport communications.

In the context of establishing security and stability in the South Caucasus, Minister Mirzoyan considered unacceptable the recent destructive, aggressive and belligerent statements by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, as well as the gross violation of the ceasefire by the Azerbaijani armed forces in the southeastern direction of the Armenian border on May 28.
