Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Tajikistan

On May 13, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Dushanbe on a working visit, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin. 

Ararat Mirzoyan and Sirojiddin Muhriddin commended the level of bilateral cooperation based on mutual understanding and trust. It was also mentioned that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Armenian-Tajik diplomatic relations, which is a good opportunity to summarize the achievements and to outline new directions aimed at expanding the cooperation.

The interlocutors emphasized the conducting of consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries for the strengthening of political ties between Armenia and Tajikistan.

They especially emphasized the efforts towards full utilization of the potential of trade and economic cooperation, and highlighting the work of the Armenian-Tajik intergovernmental commission in this regard.

The sides also discussed issues related to the cooperation between the two countries on multilateral platforms.
