Minister of Foreign Affairsof Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan participated in the session of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers

On May 13, in the capital of Tajikistan - Dushanbe, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan participated in the session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member states.

During the meeting, held in a narrow, then in an expanded format, the CIS Foreign Ministers exchanged views on issues of mutual interest on the regional and international agenda, touched upon the prospects of strengthening cooperation within the CIS. The further dimensions of the organization's activities were discussed.

During the session, Minister Mirzoyan also referred to the trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan held on May 12, expressing hope that it would be a step towards establishing peace and stability in the region. He reiterated Armenia's commitment to the implementation of the agreements reached within the statements of November 9, 2022, January 11, 2021 and November 26, 2021.

Ararat Mirzoyan presented the position of the Armenian side on the comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and in this regard emphasized the promotion of the peace process under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.

The CIS Foreign Ministers considered the report of multilevel consultations program between the foreign ministries within the CIS for 2021, refered to the list of scientific projects on the priority areas of basic research of the participating countries. The decision on granting the Silk Road International University of Tourism the status of a basic organization of the CIS member states in the field of tourism and other documents were agreed. A decision was made on the "CIS Youth Capital" international project, aimed at intensifying the cooperation of the CIS member states to create conditions for the promotion of youth potential.
