Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia and the CSTO Secretary General

On December 23, Ararat Mirzoyan, the Foreign Minister of Armenia and the Chairperson of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers received CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas.

Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the importance of summarising the project "The implementation plan of the decisions of the September (2021) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the priority directions of the CSTO activities during the presidency of the Republic of Armenia." Stanislav Zas presented in detail the provisions of the program, and assured that all necessary efforts will be made by the CSTO Secretariat and Joint Staff to implement them in a timely manner. 

During the meeting, Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also briefed on the situation in the eastern bordering area of the Republic of Armenia, and emphasised the need for practical steps aimed at increasing the level of security and safety in accordance with the Trilateral Statement of November 26, 2021.

In the context of the aforementioned, as well as current regional developments, the sides once again highlighted the importance of the allied cooperation of the member states aimed at ensuring security and stability on a collective basis.
