Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Belarus

On October 15, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Minsk to participate in the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers, held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Belarus touched upon in detail the agenda of Armenian-Belarusian cooperation in bilateral and multilateral platforms, including with the framework of CSTO, EAEU, CIS.

The reciprocal visits in high and the highest levels was mutually emphasized In terms of further development of the cooperation.

The Ministers commended the results of the recent political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries held in Minsk.

Both sides stressed the need for the steps aimed at expanding trade and economic ties, and in this regard, the role of the Armenian-Belarusian Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was emphasized. High technologies and IT, agriculture, food industry, and other spheres were highlighted as areas of interest.

During the meeting, the sides also touched upon the issues of international and regional security. In reference to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the need for a comprehensive settlement within the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.
