On September 14, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Ivan Korčok, who is on an official visit to Armenia.

Welcoming his counterpart, Minister Mirzoyan noted that Slovakia is an important partner for Armenia both in bilateral and multilateral platforms and in the framework of the Armenia-EU partnership, in this context emphasizing the interest of the Armenian side in the effective implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Slovakia discussed in detail a wide range of issues on the agenda of Armenian-Slovak relations, expressing mutual readiness to deepen and strengthen the existing multidimensional cooperation. In this regard, the sides emphasized the expansion of political dialogue, the promotion of contacts in the inter-parliamentary platform, as well as decentralized cooperation.

Ministers Mirzoyan and Korčok highlighted the spheres of trade and economy, energy, communication, information technologies, culture and science as areas of mutual interest.

Touching upon the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Minister Mirzoyan, particularly, said․ "The main issue is the fact that Azerbaijan is trying to create an impression that the conflict is resolved, which, of course, does not correspond to reality. The conflict is not resolved yet, as the core issues of the conflict have not been resolved. The people of Artsakh have the right to live in a safe, free atmosphere, the only precondition for which is the clarification of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh: as long as the issue of status remains unresolved, the conflict can not be considered settled.

The meeting of Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Ivan Korčok was followed by a joint press statement.

In the morning of the same day, the delegation headed by Slovak Foreign Minister Korčok, accompanied by Minister Mirzoyan, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial and paid tribute to the memory of the Holy Martyrs.
