Acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian met with Minister of Defense of Cyprus

On April 25, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ara Aivazian held a meeting with Minister of Defense of Cyprus Charalambos Petrides, who is in Armenia to participate in the events commemorating the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. 

Ara Aivazian expressed his deep gratitude to Defense Minister of Cyprus Petridis for being in Armenia and expressing his support to the Armenian people during such important days for the Armenian people, which is a vivid manifestation of the centuries-old friendship and solidarity of the Armenian and Cypriot peoples. Both sides stressed the importance of condemning the Armenian Genocide in preventing such crimes in the region, especially in the light of Turkey's expansionist policy. 

Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian commended the dynamically developing political dialogue and the Armenian-Cypriot bilateral agenda, emphasizing that effective cooperation in various spheres, as well as the long-standing friendship between the two peoples, create a solid basis for deepening Armenia-Cyprus interstate relations. In this context, the strengthening of the agenda of the Armenia-Greece-Cyprus platform was also emphasized. 

During the meeting, the parties touched upon the issues of security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and in the South Caucasus region.
