On December 8, Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts received the delegation led by his Italian counterpart Manlio Di Stefano.

While welcoming the members of the delegation, Avet Adonts presented in details the position of the Armenian side on the recent developments in the region, the steps taken to overcome the consequences of the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression.

During the meeting, the interlocutors stressed the urgency of taking measures to address the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, provide conditions for the return of the displaced Artsakh Armenians to their homeland, and to protect their rights.

The Italian side expressed willingness to be actively engaged in the protection of cultural heritage.

Deputy Minister Avet Adonts pointed to Turkey's expansionist ambitions in the South Caucasus, assessing them as a key factor in undermining regional security and stability.

In the context of the settlement of the conflict, the Deputy Minister reaffirmed that the full and fair realization of the right of the people of Artsakh remains a priority for Armenia. Avet Adonts reaffirmed the importance of continuing the negotiation process within the framework of the OSCE MG Co-Chairs.

They also exchanged views on a number of issues related to the bilateral and multilateral agenda․Both sides emphasized the readiness to further deepen and expand the Armenian-Italian cooperation.
