Meeting of Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian with the Foreign Minister of Artsakh Masis Mailyan

On November 28, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ara Aivazian received Masis Mayilyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh.  The sides exchanged views on the situation in Artsakh, the establishment of a ceasefire, the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh, and the works aimed at restoring normal life in Artsakh.

Touching upon the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh resulting from the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression with the involvement of foreign terrorist fighters, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Artsakh stressed the priority of ensuring conditions for displaced Armenians of Artsakh to return to their homeland, as well as protecting their rights.

Both sides emphasized the importance of the efforts for preserving the Armenian religious and historical-cultural heritage in the territories under the Azerbaijani control, including with the involvement of UNESCO and other specialized international organizations.

Ara Aivazian and Masis Mayilyan underscored the importance of fully addressing the interests of the Armenians of Artsakh in the international arena, including through protection of the right to self-determination exercised by the people of Artsakh. In this regard, the sides emphasized the need to ensure the continuity of cooperation between the two Ministries.
