Phone conversation of Foreign Ministers of Armenia And Iraq

On June 25, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan held a phone conversation with Fuad Hussein, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Iraq.

Minister Mnatsakanyan congratulated his Iraqi counterpart upon assuming the position of Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Iraq, wishing him success in this important mission. 

Foreign Ministers touched upon the situation due to COVID-19, the steps and measures undertaken at national levels towards addressing the challenges posed by the pandemic and the restoration of normalcy.

Ministers Mnatsakanyan and Hussein commended the centuries-old Armenian-Iraqi relations entwined with historical ties and reiterated mutual readiness to further deepen and expand them. In this regard, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of the Armenian-Iraqi Intergovernmental Commissi

Foreign Ministers highly valued the role of the Armenian community of Iraq, which has made a significant contribution to the social-economic and political life of the country, bringing the two peoples and countries closer together. Minister Mnatsakanyan expressed gratitude to his Iraqi counterpart for traditionally warm attitude and care towards the Armenian community.

Foreign Ministers touched upon a number of international and regional issues underscoring the importance of regional stability and security.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Fuad Hussein discussed in detail the developments in the Middle East. In this regard, both sides highlighted the importance of preserving the rights of national, religious and ethnic minorities, spiritual and historical heritage in the Middle East.
