Phone conversation of Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan with the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan

On May 20, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan held a phone conversation with Sirojiddin Muhriddin, the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan.

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Tajikistan exchanged views on addressing the challenges due to COVID-19 at national nevels. Foreign Minister of Armenia expressed his gratitude to the authorities of Tajikistan for the support provided to Armenian community in the situation caused by the pandemic and underscored the bridging role of the Armenian community in strengthening the dialogue between two countries.

The interlocutors commended the cooperation between Armenia and Tajikistan based on traditional friendship and mutual respect, and reiterated their readiness to further expand and deepen the bilateral agenda. In this regard, both sides emphasized the importance of promoting dialogue at different levels, conducting consultations between the Foreign Ministries and strengthening the cooperation on parliamentary platforms.

Among the priority directions of cooperation Foreign Ministers underscored the spheres of trade and economy, energy, medicine, science, innovation and information technologies, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres 

Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Tajikistan thoroughly touched upon the cooperation in regional and international frameworks, including within the UN, CSTO and CIS.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on a number of issues on international and regional agenda.
