The phone conversation of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and the United Arab Emirates

On May 14, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a phone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Minister Mnatsakanyan congratulated his counterpart on the occasion of Ramadan, wishing good health and all the success to the Minister, as well as lasting peace and prosperity to the friendly people of the UAE,

Foreign Ministers Mnatsakanyan and Al Nahyan discussed in details issues related to COVID-19, the steps taken at national and international levels towards eliminating the social-economic consequences of the pandemic.

Presenting the steps and programs implemented by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Foreign Minister thanked the UAE Government for humanitarian aid provided to Armenia during this challenging situation caused by the pandemic.

The interlocutors commended visible dynamics in the relations between the two countries based on traditional friendship, in the political dialogue, the cooperation in trade and economic and other spheres, reiterating mutual readiness to continue steps aimed at further deepening and enriching the bilateral agenda.

Emphasizing the spheres of high-tech and innovation, agriculture and tourism in the framework of trade and economic cooperation, the Ministers also exchanged views on the prospects of using the potential of regional and integration frameworks in this regard.

Foreign Ministers Mnatsakanyan and Al Nahyan touched upon the situation unfolded in the region, steps aimed at strengthening cooperation on a wide range of issues of mutual interest and mutual importance.

During the phone conversation, a number of issues of international agenda were also reflected upon.
