Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan՛s meeting with the UN Deputy Secretary General, the Head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime

Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Vienna on a working visit, had a meeting with Ghada Fathi Waly, the Head of the UN Office at Vienna, the Under-Secretary-General, the newly appointed Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.

Congratulating Ghada Fathi Waly upon the appointment in the position of the Head of the UN Office in Vienna and the Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan wished her success in such a responsible mission.

The sides commended the fruitful partnership between Armenia and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and expressed readiness to take practical steps towards further strengthening it. Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that addressing the challenges which are under the UNODC competences and promoting sustainable development agenda are among the priorities of the Government of Armenia.

Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed his interlocutor on the framework of large-scale reforms implemented by the Government of Armenia. The interlocutors emphasized commitment of the Armenian authorities to fight against corruption, stressing its importance at the national level and through exchange of expertise with different countries.
